add energy group as, an international competence house and leading provider of competencies, services and solutions to niches of the energy market, today announced that it will expand its global operations and launch a new subsidiary group in Houston that will officially operate as add energy, LLC. With current offices in Norway, Great Britain, Australia and Singapore, add energy group’s Houston branch will be its first location in North America.
 
add energy, LLC, will offer well management and engineering services and solutions to North and South America, with a focus on the Gulf of Mexico. Specializing in the planning and execution of dynamic well-kill operations, the company’s services will include disaster contingency solutions, incident assessment, relief-well planning and well control blowout kills.

add energy group has decades of experience in dynamic flow calculations for well control and contingency planning. Most recently, add energy group was involved in the emergency response to the BP Exploration & Production Inc. Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico, where its state-of-the-art well-kill simulations and planning were instrumental in the killing of the Macondo well. Additionally, add energy group’s investigative findings played a critical role in the nationally recognized follow-up incident report.

“As a result of our involvement in the Macondo well incident, we are experiencing a significant increase in interest for our solutions, specifically from the Gulf of Mexico region,” said Ole Rygg, Ph.D., Managing Director of add wellflow, the incident response and well-kill planning division of add energy group. “We felt that in order to keep providing our current and future clients with the best possible service, the time for this move was now.”

Located in midtown Houston, the office will begin operations in January 2011.
